November 2011- The clocks have gone back, there is less daylight, the weather may at times be testing, but we work and walk on, all year round. Why wait for a new year resolution? - have your free trial walks now.

An early request to members to get involved in the 2012 local walking festival. This will take place from 12 to 20 May with the Group taking the 'lion's share'. We need leaders, back markers, and other support to continue to successfully expand this popular event. Please contact any committee member with your offers.

Over 150 walks have now been submitted for the Winter programme. The printed booklet will be issued by early september.

Delighted to learn that once again our Group has raised £500 from donations for the local mountain rescue services. Thank you to all contributors. JM July 2011

I hope everyone is aware of the 'Take back the tracks' rally taking place on Long Causeway, near Stanage Edge on Saturday 9 July.  The rally has been organised by Friends of the Peak District to highlight the problems caused by offroading.

Full details of starting points, times, and objectives will be issued with a newsflash imminently. Please advise other members.

Please attend if you are able as numbers do matter.
