Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Group of the Ramblers' Association

Chesterfield, situated on the edge of the Peak National Park, has a very varied countryside from farmland, parkland, moorland to Country Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a wealth of walks for you to discover. You can walk from such historic villages as Eyam, Castleton, Tideswell, and Bakewell. There are several long distance paths in the area, including The Limestone Way, and The High Peak Trail. The Chesterfield Canal towpath has recently been reopened.

The Chesterfield Group, which is part of the South Yorkshire & N.E. Derbyshire Branch of the Ramblers' Association is a thriving group consisting of 700 members. We have a year round programme published every six months which contains visits to both popular areas and undiscovered corners of the County with occasional forays into Staffordshire and South Yorkshire. As can be seen from our programme there are walks for all abilities. We have a varied social programme including coach trips further afield. Please come and join us. New members are always made to feel welcome and you will make lots of friends.
